Fitting

The bicycle industry has been swept by change in recent years. And while rider fit in any professional shop has always been precedent, the market has never been so dense with information. The customer now has access to more bicycle manufacturers and new materials with more geometries than ever before. The concept of good fit, while remaining the most important component of your success as a bike rider, by and large has become a popular bike shop term. It can be tricky to navigate a sea of fit “specialists.” We humbly ask that you accept no imitations.

We believe that paramount to a good fit is comfort, that the ideal is a position which provides the maximum amount of power transfer, efficiency, and aerodynamics, while causing the rider no undue pain. This is the key to maintaining a healthy long term relationship with cycling.

Tony works his magic on another happy customer.

When it comes to fitting, Tony’s method is time tested. His years of fitting is based in accumulated knowledge. A customer once made the analogy, “It’s like when you go to the doctor. You want your doctor to have a solid sense of the way the whole body works as a system developed through years of experience.” At the root of his approach, the practiced eye and his interpretation accounts for your success. He believes that measurements are subject to interpretation, that each individual is different, and rider needs vary greatly. We, at A Bicycle Odyssey start by listening carefully to each rider’s goal and aspirations, in order to thoroughly understand and properly fit the individual.
